Yesterday x Creon: Hand-Painted Vintage G-1 Style Jacket
A 1-of-1 Collaboration for Winter Magic Festival Art Street by Creon (Father Superior)
Commissioned exclusively for our festival window display, we partnered with local artist Creon to bring the mid-century tradition of military customization back to life. In the 1940s and 50s, Navy and Marine Corps aviators would have "squadron artists" paint the backs of their issued G-1 flight jackets with lucky charms, pin-ups, and iconic cartoon characters to make rigid military gear feel personal.
We handed over a beautifully broken-in, vintage brown leather G-1 style jacket - and gave Creon total creative freedom to tap into that heritage.
The result is a 100% hand-painted masterpiece featuring a custom pin up illustration against a Blue Mountains backdrop.
