Due to the nature of recycled materials, a residual odour may be present. We recommend airing outdoors for a few days, or alternatively, cold soaking with a small amount of white vinegar (approximately one cup in a basin of water) for 30–60 minutes, followed by a thorough cold rinse and air-drying in a well-ventilated area. Vinegar helps neutralise odour rather than simply masking it and is safe for wool.
As with all wool materials, shrinkage may occur when wet, and changes in texture may develop over time. Friction may also cause pilling or light fibre shedding, which can transfer to other surfaces.
While generally suitable for everyday use, those with sensitive skin may prefer to layer over clothing.
